Winonah De Jong and women empowerment

Fashion plays an important role when it comes to self confidence. What we wear actually reflects how we feel, who we are and who want to be and funcionality is sometimes the last characteristic we look at. Well, what if we find a brand that combines aesthetics with practicality? Winonah is one of those, launched by an indipendent, strong self confident woman, who’s wife, mother and entrepreneur, Winonah De Jong. Well known in the fashion world as a trendsetter with an impeccable taste, in 2015 she decided to create a brand for contemporary, busy women who want to look fashionable, but still being comfortable.

I decided to meet her during the SS19 collection presentation, to understand better her point of view and ask some tips for those women who want to find their self-confidence, why not, with the help of a nice dress.

Winonah is well known as a brand for powerful women and as you once said ” we should dress as powerful as we feel”. So what would you advice to women who didn’t find their self-confidence yet?

I would definitely tell them that they need to look deep and understand their feelings. If you feel that you can do a certain thing and achieve it, then just go for it. If it’s a style that you like, then own it, it doesn’t have to be a trend, it must be yours.

What is the best part of being a mum, a wife and an entrepreneur?

Well, organising everything and trying to balance all the three parts of my life!

What is your biggest motivation?

I think to be able to leave something to my kids, be an example to them, so that they can believe in their dreams and work hard to achieve them! And in my job the thing that motivates me more than anything else is seeing women in my clothes!

For what would you like to be remembered?

For being a powerful woman, the one who never gave up and fought for her dreams.
